Gold Hill Inn: Reviews & Ratings
We had a delightful dinner at Golf Hill Inn. My husband called ahead to make reservations and confirmed that they were able to accommodate our diet restrictions (vegetarian for me, no onions for him). After a gorgeous drive about 45 minutes from Broomfield, we arrived and were greeted by the maître d'. He let us know what the dinner options were as there is no printed menu. We were seated and greeted by the wait staff. There are no sections in the restaurant, so all of the waiters take care of all of the patrons. They were all attentive and we never ran out of beverages. We both decided on the 6-course meal and enjoyed every bite. The atmosphere was nice and perfect for our anniversary dinner and looked like it was great for some group gatherings as well. There was a live band in the bar, which was in a separate area from the dining room. Definitely recommend.
I somehow found this listing a few years ago when I was searching for something unique to do with our son who moved to Boulder. After finding this charm of a town perched on the top of Gold Hill 20 minutes outside of Boulder, we had an amazing dinner. Since then, I have told as many people as I can about this charming, realistic gold mining era place with fabulous food, good servers, and if you’re lucky a great band ! We recently had a lovely family dinner with new friends, and everybody came away amazed that they had never been there before. It is now a biannual event for us to go and experience all the delicious meals they have to offer. Dress casual, allow some time before your dinner, to walk the town and read the historical information plaques on the front of most of the houses. And then enjoy yourself at the Gold Hill Inn!
The Inn itself is a very cool building - almost like a museum. The town is small and beautiful. The drive up the hill is pretty curvy-so if car sickness is your thing, I wouldn’t recommend it! The food was ok. We were there for Thanksgiving...the main dishes and salads were good - As were the desserts...would be a great place for an overnight romantic trip...cool little (tiny) town!
Dining at the Gold Hill is a classic Boulder tradition, and it never disappoints. The whole experience—food, atmosphere, people, and the charming little town—is something special. We love it so much we even celebrated our wedding reception here, and we still come back regularly. The owners and staff are warm, welcoming, and attentive. The historic atmosphere and authentic Western mining-town setting make it feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Service is quick and thoughtful, and the food is delicious and always satisfying. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to slow down, savor, and truly enjoy. I highly recommend spending an evening at the Gold Hill—you’ll be glad you did!
Cosy little bar. $45 per person for 6 courses meal. The building is super old. It is more than 100 years I believe. It is located at the very top of the mountain. The blue grass band was playing during our stay. On our way back, we saw the night views of the entire Boulder and the lightings in the cloud which is super cool.
My experience in Gold Hill was unforgettable. The town has a quiet charm and historic character that makes you feel like you have stepped into another time in the best possible way. The mountain views and peaceful atmosphere make it easy to slow down and appreciate the surroundings. The community was warm and welcoming, and everything from the local food to the historic buildings felt authentic and meaningful. It is not commercial or flashy, just a place with real character. I would highly recommend visiting Gold Hill to anyone looking for a memorable and restorative mountain getaway.
(Not really an Inn, although the place next door is a lodge but has special booking requirements.) Located in historic and beautiful, and tucked away, town of Gold Hill. You'll park on the narrow street or there is a lot by the lodge. Great restaurant with great pricing- definitely get a reservation because this place is always hoppin' BUT if you don't have a reservation there are small tables in the front with a limited a la carte menu that you order from the bar. They also have a beer garden with an order window, so they really try to accommodate everyone. The town is historic and beautiful so sitting in the beer garden for food and drinks on a nice day is really great. The staff is so friendly and they take time to say hi and thank you when you leave. Because they are so busy it can be a bit to order or be sat, but it's worth it. The food is great, the menu changes a bit with the seasons and the drink selection is top notch. Great place for a fancy date night although you don't have to be dressed fancy to go here. I recommend the fish, whether the stuffed trout or mahi mahi, you won't be disappointed. AND try the sour cream apple pie for dessert if they have it because it's like apple pie and cheesecake had a baby and it's so good.
My wife and I enjoyed a delightful dinner here for her birthday there was bluegrass band playing for like 2 hours (Front Porch). The food, the music, the environment were all spectacular. Food is a little bit on the pricey end, but the environment made it worth it.
